India bt Japan 7-2 (4-2)
Goal Scorers - Harmanpreet Singh (IND) 7' PC, Varun Kumar (IND) 14' PC, Ramandeep Singh (IND) 23' and 37', Hardik Singh (IND) 25', Gursahibjit Singh (IND) 43', Vivek Sagar Prasad (IND) 47' and Kenji Kitazato (JPN) 2', Kota Watanabe (JPN) 20'
Much improved performance by Indians to beat the Asian Games champion, Japan ... The Japanese team drew first blood in the 2nd minute, we converted back to back penalty corners but the Japanese equalized to 2-all after 20 mins ... After that, it was all Indian show as our players were creating chances and scoring the goals ... The Japanese team tried to fightback in the late but we defended well ... In the final, we are meating South Africa, who defeated the Americans 2-1 ... With this wins, the both finalists qualify for the 14-team Olympic qualifiers in October-November this year.
