India bt Malaysia 2-1 (2-0)
Goal Scorers - Ramandeep Singh (IND) 3', Lalit Upadhyay (IND) 29' and Shahril Saabah (MAS) 50'
We defeated Malaysia 2-1 for winning Asia cup, really hard-fought win ... Overall third Asia Cup title but the first in 10 years, before this we lifted the title in 2003 and 2007.
In this match, we were controlling the match from the start and took early lead ... After that we failed to increase lead and Malaysians missed penalty corners ... In the end of the second quarter Lalit scored opportunist goal to give two goals cushion at half-time ... After the half-time< Malaysian team tried fightback and started putting pressure on us ... Still, Indians dominted the third quarter but failed to score ... Malaysia scored early in the fourth quarter to reduce Indian lead to one goal ... After that they continuously attacked Indian goal ... India had to survive some intense moments in the final few minutes to maintain the narrow lead for a win.
