Kidambi Srikanth (IND,22) bt Kazumasa Sakai (JPN,47) 21-12 21-19
Srikanth clinched his third Super Series title, winning the Indonesia Open men's singles trophy with a straight-game victory over Japanese qualifier Kazumasa Sakai in the final ... He completed the win in just 37 minutes to take home a big cheque of $75,000.
In this match, Srikanth played a patient game, he was good near the net and kept his nerve when he falls behind ... In the first game, Srikanth took a small lead at 6-4 and then 11-8 but after the interval, he dominated the proceeding for winning it comfortably ... In the second game, Sakai started aggressively as he was controlling the rallies and showed better net game ... He took 3-7 and 6-11 lead, but after the interval, Srikanth showed his aggressive game and caught him at 13-all ... After that, both players were neck to neck but from 19-all Srikanth completed the win with two superb smashes.
