In Men's 10m Air Rifle event Gagan qualified for the final scoring 598 points ... He scored perfect 100 pts in 5 rounds and had lost 2 pts in the third ... He is currently 1 point behind two leaders ... But Abhinav missed final by 2 points in this high scoring event ... In the final round Abhinav needed 99 or better to qualify but he managed only 97 ... So last Olympics gold medalist failed to qualify for the final.

Gagan Narang won the BRONZE medal in Men's 10m Air Rifle ... With that Gagan Narang becomes India's 8th individual medalist at Olympics, following Khashaba Jhadev (1952 - Wrestling), Leander Paes (1996 - Tennis), Karnam Malleshwari (2000 - Weightlifting), Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (2004 - Shooting), Abhinav Bindra (2008 -Shooting), Vijender Singh (2008 - Boxing) and Sushil Kumar (2008 - Wrestling) ... Very happy for Gagan, who is a talented shooter but before this failed to win an individual medal at the major games like Olympics and Asiad ... So deserving win ... In the final after 6 shots he was in the second position but his next two below 10 points shots drop him on fourth position ... But Gagan controlled his nerve and produced next shot over 10 and 10.7 last shot to win the Bronze ... He missed Silver by 0.4 points.

Bombayla Devi Laishram had tough time against Greece archer but she moved into the second round ... After losing first set Bombayla Devi won next two ... Belarus pair gave tough time to Rohan and Mahesh, who won this tight match in 2 hours and 26 minutes ... Mahesh and Rohan won the first set in tie-break but lost the second set in tie-break with same score ... In the final set our pair take crucial break in 13th game to win this match ... In the second round they r facing tricky French pair of Benneteau and Gasquet.

Lee started his Olympics doubles medal quest with a new partner, Vishnu Vardhan ... They won the first set after dominating tie-break ... In the second set both pairs had multiple breaks before Dutch pair take crucial break in 9th game and our pair failed to convert break point in next game to lost it ... In the decider our pair broke their Dutch opponent int 6th and 8th games to win it comfortably ... This was Vishnu's first win at Olympics ... Next they r facing tough challenge of 2nd seed French pair Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodra.

In boxing Sumit Sangwan failed to play his game due to quick footwork by Brazilian Yamaguchi Falcao Florentino ... Brazilian Yamaguchi scored important points when matters ... He won the first 2 rounds with identical 5-4 score ... In the final round Sumit tried hard after falling behind 2 points but he managed to win 6-5 and lost bout by 1 point ... From my point of view this looked controversial decision considering Sumit dominated second round with scoring punches and still lost that round 4-5 ... tough luck for the kid.

In hockey, Dutch side were better on the field in the first half and they take lead through field goal in 20th minute ... They doubled their lead in 29th minute converting 1st penalty corner and were leading 2-0 at half-time ... But in the second half Indians came back firing their all cylinders ...
