At 2nd London Chess Classic, Great Britain

Round 3 - Friday, December 10, 2010
Luke McShane ½-½ Vladimir Kramnik
Michael Adams ½-½ Nigel Short
Viswanathan Anand 1-0 Magnus Carlsen
Hikaru Nakamura ½-½ David Howell

This was a huge win for Anand as in first 2 rounds he managed only draw with lower rated players and this tournament format doesn't favoring draw as points structure is 3-1-0 ... So McShane was already ahead with 6 pts after 2 rounds with 2 wins and other hand Anand had only 2 pts from 2 draws ... Now after 3 rounds McShane is leading with 7 pts, Anand and Nakamura r second with 5 pts.

Game between Anand and Carlsen couldn't describe better than what Chessbase site wrote - "Anand got into trouble against Carlsen, then Magnus was completely lost, almost saved it and finally succumbed."

Match between current WR #1 and WR #2 played like top match ... The game started with a Ruy Lopez but Anand was little struggling with his opening moves ... Anand's move 24...Be6 was turn table and slowly Anand take control still Carlsen was playing good defensive game ... Anand played excellent endgame and managed to keep pressure ... Carlsen resigned after 77th move ... McShane had lucky escape aginst Kramnik after 139 moves.
