Kash become the first Indian to reach an ATP final since Leander Paes won the 1998 Newport title ... He is also the second wild card in Newport history to reach the title match, joining Mark Philippoussis who won the title in 2006.

If Kash maanges to win title here, then it would be the second time that a son has joined his father as an ATP title winner ... In 2002 in Newport, Taylor Dent won the title and joined his dad Phil as the first father-son duo to have won ATP titles.

Match was tough as Kash managed to convert only 1 bp in 14 chances and he converted 10th match point to win this battle.

Ladies -
[SF] Sunitha Rao (IND,144) l (1) Victoria Azarenka (BLR,16) 67 46

And Somi won this invitational to cash $40K top prize ... This is definetly THE best start for Somi's pro-career ... Beating back to back top 100 players with such dominating performance against Sela speaks huge volume about Somi's talent.

As per report, yesterday he won because of his superior consistency and court coverage more than anything else. He was an effective counterpuncher and made passing shots when pressed ... His backhand was especially steady throughout the match ... He also anticipated Sela's delicate drop shots well.

Somdev Devvarman - "I've always loved playing the sport, money or no money. I play for the love of the game. I'm trying to take that same perspective out there. I'm just going to try to keep improving every day."

Any plans for the money?
"Just to be smart with it, put it away."

Dudi Sela - "He's very fast and gets to a lot of shots."
