Ronjan Sodhi won the double trap gold in the shotgun World Cup in Belgrade by equalling two World records, he equalled the final World record with a 194 out of 200, after having equalled the preliminary phase World record of 147 out of 150.

Last 2 yrs he has been supported by the Mittal Champions Trust ... Now he is hoping for wild card entry for Olympics.

At 48th National inter-State athletics championships, J. J. Shobha crossed the ‘A’ qualification of 6000 points in heptathlon to make the Beijing Olympics, she reached 6043 points ... But that means Susmita Singha Roy, who already had the ‘B’ norm (5866 at Bhopal), will need to go for the 6000 points to qualify for Beijing Olympics.

Discus thrower Harwant Kaur qualified for Beijing Olympics with 61.09 mtrs throw ... She will join Krishna Poonia as 2nd Indian qualifier in discus as both have crossed 61 mtrs qualifying mark.
