Viswanathan Anand - Alexander Morozevich 0 - 1
Rapid
Alexander Morozevich - Viswanathan Anand ½ - ½
Levon Aronian take sole lead with full point after Anand and Carlsen lost their respective matches ½-1½ pts ... Anand lost his blindfold game against Morozevich due to a classical blindfold error.
From Report -
The blindfold game between Anand and Alexander Morozevich ended dramatically when Anand dropped his queen due to a classical error. In the position after Black’s 24th move, 24...Nd5, Anand started his calculations with 25.Nxd5 cxd5 26.Qxd5 and in his mind he went many moves deeper. But when he finally had taken his decision he assumed that he had already executed the first move of his plan and moved his queen to d5. When he saw the answer 25...cxd5 he understood what had happened and resigned.
So now before last round Levon Aronian is leading with 13 pts ... Anand and Carlsen r on 2nd position with 12 pts and Kramnik is ½ pt behind them.

[R1] (WC) Sania Mirza (IND,100) vs Mathilde Johansson (FRA,65)
Yuki having great opportunity to play against top-100 player that also in masters event ... His opponent is clay court specialist and only plays on clay so I m hoping for some miracle here ... If he manage to create biggest upset of his small career then he can meet Andy Roddick in second round.
As expected Sania slide in her ranking, but good news is hence onwards Sania can only go upwards as she is not defending any points until June, Birmingham tournament ... And after that also not much points to defend.
Here she is facing French woman and if she manage to beat her then she will face WR No. 2 Dinara Safina in second round.

That time she was ranked in top-75 .. In 2007 she had good result like she reached Wimbledon 4th round beating Martina Hingis ... And in US open she lost in second round against Sania Mirza ... :D From 2002 to February 2008 she remained inside top-80 with singles PB #28 in 2003 and doubles PB #47 in 2007.
In my view not easy match for Shikha though she is playing well this week.

GREAT SOMI IS BACKKKKKKKKKK!!! Som make me eat my words and I m really happy about that ... :-) He tamed WR #59 and Asia's #1 in straight sets victory ... Undoubtfully Somdev has arrived on the Davis Cup stage!!!
Som started match with holding his serve ... First 3 service games went as per serve and then Som broke Lu's serve converting 3rd break point on 4th game ... Holding his serve in 5th game Som again broke Lu's serve in 6th game and then hold his service game on luv to win the first set.
In second set Lu started with holding his serve and then Som saved 2 break points before holding his serve ... Again after 2-all Som broke Lu's serve in 5th game ... Then after holding his serve Som again broke Lu's serve at 15 in 7th game ... After that Som served for second set and hold easily at 15 to won it.
In third set Som started with breaking Lu's serve after duece but first time he losse focus in the match and lost his serve at 15, first break of his serve in the match ... In 3rd game Lu saved 5 break points before holding his serve ... After holding his serve at 15 Som again break Lu's serve on 2nd break point to lead 3-2 ... Som hold in 6th game after saving 3 break pooints ... Then Lu hold at 30 to make it 4-3 ... Som hold his serve with nice serving at 30 to lead 5-3 ... And broke Lu's serve on 30 to scored biggest upset win abroad by an Indian in Davis Cup since Lee beat Arnaud Boetsch in Frejus in 1993.
In last dead rubber Rohan lost against 17 yrs old Yang, who is current junior French Open and top junior player of 2008 ... Still this was winnable match for Rohan, this loss shows his lack of singles practice before tie ... I really wish he practices singles before our May home tie against Australia.

Jyoti Randhawa - "The way the course was set up and the way it was playing, I thought I could shoot some low numbers and I did that the last two days and I'm glad I did it."
"That's the mantra now, I need to relax a bit and chill out. You don't practice and work hard during tournaments. You do it before that. I came here, I swam, I went scuba diving and I enjoyed myself. And here I am, I've won a golf tournament. I learned a lot and I think I need to do this more often."
"The two boys (Davies and Chowrasia) got me going. They were on my heels the whole day. S.S.P. made an eagle on the first hole and I needed to wake up and do something and luckily I did. It was good competition."

Mahesh Bhupathi (IND)/ Leander Paes (IND) bt Tsung-Hua Yang (TPE)/ Chu-Huan Yi (TPE) 64 76(0) 67(4) 62
Surprisingly tough match for seasoned pair of Lee and Hesh ... Frankly the way Taiwanese fought here in doubles is going to boost their players morale and tomorrow they will come out with all guns blazing in reverese singles ... From recent form of players it looks like tie will may come down on last match between Rohan and Ti Chen ... Rohan having advantage in it as he is leading 2-0 head to head against Chen but Davis cup is a different cup of tea and with all crowd support Chen can do anything ... Hoping before that Somdev will pull off special performance to beat Lu.
