(IND - '44 - NP Pradeep)
And this was our first Nehru Cup title ... Before this our best perfromance was semi-final ... In 5 matches we scored 13 goals by 6 different players ... Subroto Pal was hero for our win and other exceptional game by Baichung Bhutia, Lawrence Dias, NP Pradeep, Mahesh Gawli and Sunil Chetri in this tournament ... Three cheers for Indian Coach Bob Houghton!!!
Also with this win our FIFA ranking move inside top-130.

In just concluded u-16 Asian Championship our boys and girls participated ... We had so-so tournament in team events and in individual events also our players didn't moved ahead 3rd round ... But our MXD team of Prajakta Sawant and Raj Kumar achieve something which our other any doubles or MXD team never achieved ... In singles our players won many titles in Asian and International events beating top players but that never happened in doubles or MXD ... Prajakta and Raj won u16 MXD title beating Korean, Malayasian and Vietnami pair to moved into final and in final we defeated Chinese pair to won our first title in MXD in any event.
