At US Open 2019, New York, U.S.A.

[Q3] Sumit Nagal (IND,190) bt Joao Menezes (BRA,210) 57 64 63

[R1] (Q) Sumit Nagal (IND,190) vs (3) Roger Federer (SUI,3)

Wow, what a great milestone for Indian tennis as two Indians in the US Open main-draw! And he has a dream match against a legendary Federer in the first round.
Sumit showed a fighting spirit in this nervy match ... There were a lot of ups and downs in this match, in the first set at 5-all, Sumit had 4 break-points on Menezes's serve but he failed to convert ... In the next service game, while serving for staying in the set, he lost his serve from 40-15 to lose the set ... In the second set, Sumit was 0-3 down as Menezes broke him in the 2nd game ... Sumit fought back to 3-all and from 3-4 he won next 7 games ... He won the second set 6-4 and took a 4-0 lead in the third set ... Menezes tried fightback to make it 4-3, but Sumit held his service game and broke Menezes when he was serving for staying in the match for a memorable win ... He becomes a youngest Indian male player in the last 25 yrs to make the US Open main-draw, with age of 22 yrs and a week old ... Before that, Leander qualified in 1994 when he was 21 yrs old ... Sumit draws against THE Roger Federer, but it will be a terrific experience to play against a legend which Sumit can cherish in his lifetime.
