At The Open 2017 - Qualifying, Milton Keynes, England

Shiv Kapur earned his berth at the year's third Major after shooting scores of 71 and 65 that gave him first place at eight-under-136, two shots ahead of the English duo of Ian Poulter and Toby Tree ... The top three players from each of the five Final Qualifying events made it to this year's British Open which will be held at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in England from July 20-23 ... This will be his fifth Major appearance and 3rd British open, before this, he participated at British open in 2006 and 2013 and at the US Open in 2014 and 2015 ... His best finish at British open was tied 73rd in 2013 and at the US Open tied 23rd place in 2014.

Pranjala claimed her maiden ITF women's title in the topsy-turvy match against another unseeded player, Italian girl Giada Clerici ... In the first set, Pranjala was a double break up at 4-0 and then up 6-5 but she failed to close the set and lost the tie-break without winning a single point ... In the second set also she was 5-3 break up and serving for the set ... Clerici broke her in 9th game but Pranjala broke her in 12th game for taking the match into decider ... In the final set, Pranjala was trailing 1-4 but from here she made excellent comeback ... Pranjala won next 5 games losing mere 8 points and broke Clerici 3 times for superb win.

Before that, Pranjala had showed terrific consistency in her game as she defeated 2015 junior Austrian open champion Tereza Mihalikova in the quarters and then Russian girl Yashina in the semis.

For the first time in his career, Jeevan earned a chance to make his Grand Slam debut but an ankle injury to his partner Hyeon Chung almost killed his dream.

In this match, Srikanth played a patient game, he was good near the net and kept his nerve when he falls behind ...
