After winning first set easily in second set both pairs traded multiple breaks ... In tie-break Chinese pair was strong for our pair ... In super tie-break our pair take lead wit mini-breaks ... They had 4 match points at 9-5 but Chinese pair managed to save 3 before our pair converted 4th to won this match ... In this match Somdev was erratic but Sanam played exceptional tennis to helped India to won their 5th men's doubles Gold in a row ... In mixed doubles final Sania and Vishnu started well winning first set but from second set their game totally dropped down as Sania was committing too many unforced errors and second seed Chinese Taipei pair of Yung Jan Chan and Tsung Hua Yang take full advantage of it winning next set and STB easily, 64 16 2-10 ... In mens singles semi-final Somdev won first set easily against Tatsuma Ito breaking his serve twice ... But then Somdev lost 7 games in a row and in that his serve got broken 4 times to lose second set 0-6 ... At that time Tatsuma was controlling match and points ... In third set Somdev digged deep to come out of slump to finished match 6-3 ... In the final Somdev is facing top-seed and WR #40 Uzbek Denis Istomin.
In archery men's recurve team won Bronze medal like their women counterparts ... They won Bronze medal match against Chinese Taipei 220-216 ... On first day of track and field India got a flying start wining 2 Golds and 1 Silver in long distance ... In Women's 3000m Steeplechase Sudha Singh gave unexpected result to won Gold medal ... She managed to hold Chinese challenge in the end to won it ... Before that Preeja Sreedharan showed her dominance in 10,000 mtrs ... She became first Indian athelete run below 32 mins ... Kavita Raut also run amazingly to came a second behind one second ... So Gold and Silver for Indians in Womens's 10,000M.
So at last our shooters managed to win Gold medal ... In Men's Double Trap Ronjan Sodhi won Gold and Indian team managed to win Bronze.
In Archery recurve women team event in dramatic event Indian women declared winner against Chinese Taipei team in Bronze medal match, 218-217 ... In golf on final day our golfers - Rashid Khan, Rahul Bajaj, Abhinav Lohan, Abhijit Singh Chadha - managed PAR score for Team India and that was enough to earned them Silver with 1 stoke ahead of Chinese Taipei ... In individual event Rashid Khan scored final PAR round and remained on -3 ... He remained tied for 4th position and 2 stokes behind Chinese Taipei player Chien Yao Hung.
In sailing Open Match Racing event Indian sailors - Balraj, Trunal Balkrishna Helegaonkar, Atool Sinha, Farokh Tarapore and Shekhar Singh Yadav - won Silver ... They lost final to Japan ... But hats off to Farokh Tarapore for Silver at age of 50 yrs and participating in his 8th Asian games in a row.
In snooker singles Aditya Mehta lost 1-4 against Hong Kong player Ka Chun Marco Fu in semis, 20-62 7-60 68-55 15-59 21-71 ... So another Bronze medal for India in snooker.
In squash Saurav Ghosal lost in semis against top-seed Malaysian Mohamad Azlan Iskandar 1-3, 5-11 11-6 5-11 10-12 ... So another Bronze for us and this time from Squash.
In tennis Sania scored another upset win this time over WR #58 and 2nd seed Thai Tamarine Tanasugarn 62 63 ... Very dominating win to moved into semis ... Then Dharamvir Singh scored good field goal to gave us lead 2-1 at half-time ... In second half Pakistan take advantage of poor defending when they scored goal through Shakeel Abbasi ... But our forwards earned another penalty corner which Sandeep Singh scored ... In end our team well defended to keep advantage.

Indians rowers gave roaring start for India on 7th day ... Indian rowers won 3 medals ... As expected before Asian games bigins, Bajrang Lal Takhar won Gold medal in Men's Single Sculls ... Today in the morning we won 2 Silvers in the rowing ... Our Men's Four team - Anil Kumar, Saji Thomas, Ranjit Singh and Jenil Krishnan - finished second behind Chinese rowers ... In Lightweight Men's Four event our team - Lokesh Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Rajesh Kumar and Satish Joshi - finished second behind Japanese team .. They hold big challenge from Hong Kong team to won Silver.
In shooting Vijay Kumar won a Bronze medal in the men's 25 metre Center Fire Pistol final with with 583 and Omkar Singh finished on 8th with 580... Gagan finished 4th in the final of the men's 50 metre Rifles 3-Position final, his 8th shot of 8.3 pts cost him Bronze medal by 0.5 pts ... Men's trap team finished on 5th position with a total of 201 after the end of day one and in that Manavjit Singh Sandhu finished 5th with a score of 70.
In boxing in the men's +91 kg category Paramjeet Samota scored victory over experienced South Korean Park Sung ... Park Sung got disqualified after recieving 3 penalties when Samota was leading 9-4 in second round ... So with that Samota assured our first medal of boxing ... Suranjoy Singh moved to quarter final beating former junior world champion Korean Juseong 8-6 ... Not a productive day for Indians ... Managed to win only couple of medals and both in Wushu ... In 60 kg women category Sandhyarani Devi Wangkhem lost in the final against Iranian Wushu player Khadijeh Azadpour ... In 60 kg men category Bimoljit Singh Mayanglambam won Bronze after his yesterday's loss in the semi-final.
In mens hockey we comfortably defeated Bangladesh 9-0, Sandeep Singh scored 4 goals in the match but other hand Pakistan also scored more dominating victory over Hong Kong, 12-0 ... Our next crucial pool match is against Pakistan ... But Indian women lost 0-1 in crucial match against Korea.
In boxing mens 60 kg category impressive performance by a reigning world youth champion and youth Olympics Bronze medalist Vikas Krishnan against a gold medallist from the prestigious King''s Cup Thai Saylom Ardee, 8-1 ... In mens 75 kg category Vijender Singh was down 1-2 against Chinese Taipei's Yang Yi Ting after second round but in the final round Vijender showed attacking boxing skill to won bout 9-4.

India having 11 medals, 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze.
Virdhawal Khade created history winning first swimming medal in 24 yrs ... In 50m Butterfly he won Bronze medal with timing 24.31 ... In the morning he won heat with timing 24.56, which was 5th best in final qualifiers ... So after his unsuccessful bid in yesterday's 50m Freestyle where he missed Bronze by 0.03 sec he managed to win his first big medal.
Another creditable performance by Ashish Kumar in Men's Floor Final to won Bronze ... This is our FIRST medal in gymanastic ... He had very tough challenge from other top Asian gymnasts, still he produced creditable performance to upset other Chinese, Korean and Japanese opponents to won Bronze ... Interestingly in this event they gave 2 Gold medals as 2 gymnasts points tally were same and a Bronze.
Only Harika managed to win Bronze medal in chess, in last round Harika needed victory to won Bronze medal ... In the final round with blacks she defeated Indonesian player Sukandar Irine Kharisma and grabbed Bronze ... Tania Sachdev finished on 6th with 5.5 pts ... In mens event Sasi disappointed as he lost both matches to finished on 9th position with 5.5 pts, Surya Shekhar Ganguly finished on 5th with 6 pts.

In boxing 52kg category Suranjoy Mayengbam started with a 7:2 win over Thai boxer Chatchai Butdee to reached into R16.
In volleyball India scored comfortable much needed win after their one-sided loss against South Korean team ... We scored win over Vietnam 3-0, 25-20 25-16 25-23.
In table tennis Sharath Kamal and Subhajit moved into R16.
In hockey we faced poor loss against Japanese team 3-0.
In football round of 16 Japan outplayed us to scored comfortable 5-0 win but still creditable performance by our young team.

Today very so-so day as we failed to win a single medal in shooting ... In snooker team event we won Silver ... In semis we defeated Pakistani team 3-0 but we lost final against Chinese team 1-3, only Aditya won his match.
In tennis we lost semi-final 1-2 against top-seed Chinese Taipei team ... In my view this loss was due to poor team selection from our captain Mr. Nandan Bal ... In first single he decided to play Sanam Singh over Karan Rastogi, who was in good form ... But Sanam gave his full efforts in singles though lost in 3 sets against young Tsung Hua Yang ... Somi won his match in straight sets against Ti Chen as WR #35 Yen-Hsun Lu was unavailable due to injury ... Then Nandan decided to play Sanam with Somi in final doubles rubber, who was tired after playing long match and also taken medical injury break in late of third set instead of playing fresh legs of Karan and Vishnu, Somi and Sanam lost in straight sets to blown up our chance of making final ... So our team need to remain happy with Bronze.
For me best performance of the day came from our young 19 yrs old swimmer Virdhawal Khade ... Who qualified for the Men's 50m Freestyle Final with 5th best timing in the heat, 22.98 secs ... In the final he finished on 4th position with 22.87 secs timing, he missed bronze medal by mere 0.03 sec ... Very positive performance from him.
Our 2 Wushu players are in medal round in mens and womens 60 kg category ... Doha's Bronze medal winner Bimoljit Singh Mayanglambam is in semis and facing Iranian Mohsen Mohammadseifi ... Sandhyarani Devi Wangkhem is playing against Laos player Paloy Barckkham in semis.
Our best hope in weightlifting,Ravi Kumar Katulu finished 5th in 69 kg category ... He lifted total 311 kg weight, 10 kg less than bronze medal winner Indonesian lifter.
Mens hockey team started with win, they won 7-0 against Hong Kong team ... We should won that match by more than 10 goals margin.
In volleyball Korea defeated us convincingly , 3-0 (25-19 25-20 25-19) .. Frankly after watching scratchy performance against Kazakhstan I was expected this ... We need to improve our overall performance to fight in place for semis ... Again our blocking and defence was poor.

At last Mahesh and Max managed to lift title in 2010 and that is also Masters title ... In the final they defeated unseeded giant-killers Knowles and Ram.
In the first set they take important break in 12th game to won this set ... They didn't face any break point on their serve ... But in second set Mahesh lost his serve in 3rd game, they immediatly broke Knowles's serve in next game to make it 2-all ... In 12th game they again broke Knowles's serve, after leading 0-40 they needed 4 match point before completing victory ... So this was their first title of 2010 after playing five finals.
Mahesh Bhupathi - "Coming into this week it was a bit of a dog fight [to qualify for the Finals], but with the way we played we won and now I think we will go in as the No. 3 seeds. So we’re hopefully going to have a good showing there and finish the year strong."
“We’ve been playing well. We reached the final in Valencia and put ourselves in a position to win again today," said Bhupathi. "It was very frustrating not to win a title before now, we’d been playing well in the Masters 1000 [tournaments], but if you keep putting yourself in the position you’re going to eventually win. It’s been 12 years since I last won [the Paris-Bercy title] and I’m happy to be out here so long."

Alok Kumar lost aginst Po-Cheng Kuo in semi-final of Men's 8-Ball Pool Singles, so he will settle with Bronze ... Snooker team consisting Yasin Merchant, Brajesh Damani and Aditya mehta moved into semis beating Chinese Taipei team 3-1 in quarter-final ... Tomorrow they will face Pakistani team to place in the final.
In shooting our wWomen's 10m Air Pistol team missed gold medal by a single points and Heena Sidhu also missed individual final by one place ... In Men's 10m Air Pistol Final, Vijay Kumar qualified for the final on 8th place but he scored best score in final round to won Bronze medal.
In tennis Sanam and Somdev won their respective singles matches in contrasting style to helped our Men team to entered into semis beating Thailand 2-1 ... Thai team won doubles match, Karan and Vishnu lost doubles against Ratiwatanas in 3 sets ... In semis we r facing top-seed Chinese Taipei team.
Our mens volleyball team had shaky start ... Before this they defeated Kazakhstan in straight 3 sets but here they lost first set 24-26 ... In second set also our team was struggling near net, their blocking was poor and making errors on serving ... Managed to lift game on crucial stage to won second set 25-23 ... In third set they played very improved game and controlled from the start to won 25-18 ... In fourth set Kazak players started with spirited game and were taking early lead ... But turning point of the set came when we were 10-15 down then we won 9 points on a row when Gurinder Singh was serving and that turned this set in our favor ... We won this set 25-21 and match in 1 hrs and 41 mins ... Tomorrow we r having crucial match against Doha Gold medalist South Korea.
So now we r having 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medals.

Alok Kumar lost aginst Po-Cheng Kuo in semi-final of Men's 8-Ball Pool Singles, so he will settle with Bronze ... Snooker team consisting Yasin Merchant, Brajesh Damani and Aditya mehta moved into semis beating Chinese Taipei team 3-1 in quarter-final ... Tomorrow they will face Pakistani team to place in the final.
In shooting our wWomen's 10m Air Pistol team missed gold medal by a single points and Heena Sidhu also missed individual final by one place ... In Men's 10m Air Pistol Final, Vijay Kumar qualified for the final on 8th place but he scored best score in final round to won Bronze medal.

India opened their medals account winning two Silvers on first day in shooting ... Gagan Narang won Silver in individual Men's 10m Air Rifle and helped team to won Silver in Men's 10m Air Rifle Team event also.
Otherwise we had poor day as in Men's 50m Pistol Team we ended on 5th position, 1646 pts, they were 21 pts behind Bronze medal winner Japan ... In Women's 10m Air Rifle Team event w finished on 7th position with 1176 pts ... Omkar Singh finished on 7th position in individual Men's 50m Pistol event ... Abhinav Bindra failed to qualify for final in individual event.
